Recovery Happens is a community event that brings people together to celebrate recovery and raise awareness about mental health and substance use disorders. It offers a supportive space with resources, activities, food, speakers, and more, all designed to promote hope and empower individuals on their recovery journey. This event highlights the importance of treatment, prevention, and community support while creating a joyful celebration of resilience and growth. Recovery Happens is held during September, during National Recovery Month, to honor individuals in recovery and those who provide vital services.

Kathy Leikam is in remission after needing a series of monthly blood transfusions due to pure red blood cell aplasia, a rare disorder that left her feeling constantly tired.
